Mississippi Public Health Institute Launches Platform to Support Individuals in Treatment and Recovery for Behavioral Health and Substance Use Disorder

Madison, MS – CHESS Health, the leading provider of evidence-based digital health solutions for substance use disorder (SUD), announced today that Mississippi Public Health Institute (MSPHI) has launched the eRecovery solution to support patients struggling with SUD and/or behavioral health conditions. MSPHI is an organization in Mississippi addressing the complex needs of families and individuals facing SUD or mental health disorders, their co-occurrence, and the secondary issues related to substance misuse and mental illness.
Individuals in treatment and recovery will now have access via their smartphones to a team of certified peer recovery digital support specialists and a robust set of tools, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The program is especially needed in the wake of increased overdose deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic and the dramatic increase in synthetic opioid use. CHESS Health’s eRecovery solution, which includes the Connections app, helps individuals reduce isolation, build confidence and adhere to a treatment and recovery plan.
“As a working mother with my own recovery story, having real time support on my smartphone is likely to help me stay in recovery,” said Dr. AnnaLyn Whitt, Program Director at MSPHI. “Along with 6th District Intervention Court, MSDH, MSU Extension Service, and the MS Community Health Worker’s Association, our goal is to create a community of recovery that supports all people in the southwest area of Mississippi.
