Choctaw Nation Behavioral Health Launches Platform to Support Tribal Members in Treatment and Recovery for Substance Use Disorder

Solution from CHESS Health provides 24/7 peer support for Choctaw Nation Behavioral Health

Durant, Oklahoma, May 25, 2023 – CHESS Health, the leading provider of evidence-based digital health solutions for substance use disorder (SUD), announced today that Choctaw Nation Behavioral Health has launched the eRecovery solution to support tribal members with SUD.

Individuals in treatment and recovery will now have access via their smartphones to a team of certified peer recovery digital support specialists and a robust set of tools, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The program is especially needed in the wake of increased overdose deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic and the need for private, immediate help available through SUD resources. CHESS Health’s eRecovery solution, which includes the Connections app, helps individuals reduce isolation, build confidence and adhere to a treatment and recovery plan.

“Our tribal members are private individuals, so being able to help them on their recovery journey with an app on their phone is a pivotal tool for our counselors,” said Lacey Callahan, Choctaw Nation Behavioral Health Grants Manager. “Our partnership with CHESS Health enables us to support individuals throughout their journey, day or night, no matter where they live.”

“It’s essential that recovery support reaches individuals where they are,” said Hans Morefield, CEO of CHESS Health. “That means getting support tools like the Connections app in individuals’ hands as they leave treatment facilities, start outpatient care, or even pre-treatment. We’re proud to partner with the team at Choctaw Nation Behavioral Health – the perfect complement to our technology.”
